How to submit a correction
Use the contact form and set the subject to Correction or factual update. Please include:
- The page URL where the error appears.
- The exact wording you believe is wrong.
- The correct information, and a link or citation we can verify.
Response times
- Clear factual errors (wrong date, wrong name, wrong quote, broken source link): corrected within 48 hours of verification.
- Out-of-date content (superseded by a new development, e.g. a CCRC decision): reviewed within a week, with a visible “last updated” date change on the page.
- Interpretation disputes (you disagree with how we summarise a prosecution or Panel claim): we’ll reply explaining our reasoning, and if the case is strong we’ll adjust the wording.
Change log
Every change to factual content is recorded in the site’s public Git history at github.com/bryanflowers/letby. You can see the exact edit, author, timestamp and reason on every commit.
Credit for the reporter
If you submit a verified correction and want credit, we’ll add your name (or an initialised version you prefer) to the commit message and, for substantive fixes, to the page itself. If you prefer to remain anonymous, we respect that.
What we will not do
- Remove content simply because it is unfavourable to a named individual or institution.
- Change wording to match advocacy messaging from any side of the public debate.
- Stealth-edit. Once a page has been publicly available, factual changes are reflected in the version history — we do not overwrite history silently.
Families
If a bereaved family or their representative requests removal of specific material that, notwithstanding our dignity commitments, they nevertheless regard as causing harm, we will consider removal or redaction promptly and sympathetically.
Legal notices
Formal legal complaints should be directed via the contact form with the subject Media / press. We will acknowledge within 48 hours.
